Reopens at the Public
Library of New London
The History & Genealogy Room at the Public Library of New London will reopen to the public as of Monday, March 19. The room has been closed to the public since February 2006 as the library underwent a major renovation that moved the Children’s Department upstairs to the main floor and relocated the Community, Board, and History & Genealogy Rooms to the former Children’s Department in the basement area. The hours of operation will be by appointment from Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Visitors to the room will register at the Reference Desk and sign a statement regarding the policies and procedures of the room.
“The
newly renovated room will have more floor space for expansion of the
collection, said Reference Librarian Marcia Stuart, “and will allow for greater
exposure of the materials available to researchers”.
Questions
regarding the room and reservations for use should be directed to the Reference
Department at the library by calling (860) 447-1411 Ext. 3.
