On occasions Dynix may be unable to complete the Transaction Assurance Process (TAP) required to complete the deletion of a Holdings record (item) resulting in the display of "*** BAD RECORD ****" on the item status screen. It is possible to correct a problem such as this with the procedures described below. For example, a search results in the following item status screen display.

In order to correct this problem log into your Cataloging account, and access the item status screen from either Update Bibliographic Record (UBR) or Update Holdings Record (UHR). For example, from UBR enter "S" in order to select the records from the full bibliographic record display.

Select "H" in order to access the item status screen.

Enter "SORT" at the system prompt on the item status screen. Sort will the complete the deletion which TAP was unable to do. All reference to the Holdings record and "*** BAD RECORD ***" will be removed.
