Scope Note:
Nonfiction or fiction work featuring opera, opera singers, or opera composers. Note: For nonfiction recordings of opera(s), use the form Performance in conjunction with Opera. For fictionalized representations of operas or singers, simply use Opera or Opera with Biographical, respectively. Also use Opera alone for operatic work specifically staged or adapted for the camera. Not necessary to also use adaptation, since that is implied by the term Operetta. TV examples: LIVE FROM THE MET (with the form Performance); NBC OPERA THEATRE (with the form Performance); THIS IS OPERA (with Educational). Video examples: MARIA CALLAS: HER PARIS DEBUT (with the form Performance); OPERA: MAN, MUSIC, AND DRAMA (with Educational); PAVAROTTI MASTER CLASS AT JUILLIARD (with Instructional).
